THE FALL OF MAN AND WHY?

“And may the God of peace Himself, sanctify you through and through – that is separate you from profane things, make you pure and wholly consecrated to God- and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved sound and complete and found blameless- 1 Thess. 5:23 AMP.
“(The Father) has delivered and drawn us to Himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into the Kingdom of the Son of His Love. In whom we have our REDEMPTION through His blood; (which means) the forgiveness of our sins” Col.1:13-14 – AMP.

The scripture in 1 Thess.5:23 expresses the desire of God for His people, that man should live without spot or wrinkle, spirit, soul and body and of course in terms of character which certainly was the ultimate goal and desire of God in creating man in His Image, that, man might stand as God’s sole expression on the earth. But the second scripture we read in Col.1:13-14 shows that something went wrong, hence the word REDEMPTION. So what is it that necessitated the initiation of the work of Redemption? In order to answer this question, we must first find out the position and the ultimate place of man in creation.

THE ULTIMATE PLACE O F MAN IN CREATION
‘What is man that thou art mindful of him and the son of man that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour, thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands, thou hast put all things under his feet. For in that He (God) put all in subject under him, He left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him”. Ps 8:4-6, Heb.2:8 compare Gen.1:26-27, 9:2 1cor. 11:7

This is clear enough that, the divine purpose of God in creating man in His image (representative likeness) is that he should have dominion (rulership, control) over everything that He God have created. So we can see that the formation of man is the projection of God into a form (image-likeness) that can be seen and handled (Isa. 43:10) for the purpose of ruling over His creation. This is what Jesus Christ the first born son among many brethren, came to demonstrate even as a human being. See Heb. 1:1-3, Col 1:18, Romans 8:9.
We can therefore see that the dominion being spoken of, was fully seen in all that Jesus did and the life He lived perfectly while on earth. There was no disease He could not heal, no sickness he could not cure, the wind and storm, the very elements in creation all obeyed him and clearly recognized His presence. In the declaration of His true identity, He said “if you have seen me, you have seen the father” Jn.14:7-10 because you cannot separate the father from the son. He was the carrier of the very invincible presence of God. This certainly was the position of Adam and Eve in the Garden before they lost it and this ought to be the position of man today or can I say when God is through with the work of man’s Redemption.

That man was lowered a little than the angels means, man was made to loose some aspect of the qualities of the Godhead, since the word “angel” is Elohim-God; the very word in Gen.1:1. This is a very common word for God in the Old Testament.
So man in God’s original creation was part of that Elohim until he was made to lack- lowered, and this lowering from the true essence of the Godhead is what is termed “THE FALL OF MAN”. This actually took place when the man of (Gen.1:26-28), in the Image of God, was “formed of the Dust of the ground” in (Gen.2:27). And because he has now suffered this lack, suffering from some spiritual deficiency, as the propensity to sin has now been introduced into his members as he now partakes of the earth realm; he was no longer a balanced and complete man to have total dominion over the creation of God. This then is the very beginning of the fall even before they partook of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

“BUT NOW WE SEE NOT YET ALL THINGS PUT UNDER HIM – MAN”. The word ‘not yet’ clearly indicates that the plan of God for man to have dominion is yet a total reality. It has not been annulled, but rather it is to be realized in Christ in the ages to come. “for the government of the world when the times are ripe for it--the purpose which He has cherished in His own mind of restoring the whole creation to find its one Head in Christ; yes, things in Heaven and things on earth, to find their one Head in Him” Eph.1:10, WNT. And this is why we read “For in Him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily and ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principalities and power” Col. 2:9-10.Please, note something here, the Godhead is IN Christ, and not Christ IN the Godhead in three persons. Did you notice it? Ok!
So this lowering of man from the realm of spirit is what made him vulnerable to sin. For he now lacked the strength to resist sin, which is a mistaken identity of whom he really was in the beginning-Christ.

A WORD ON THE FALL
It is common a belief in Christendom, that man fell so to speak, because he (Adam and Eve) disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden. Gen 3. But the plain word of God says that God Himself subjected creation to vanity but with a hope Rom.8:20-23. Further more that the Lamb of God was slain for the salvation (deliverance) of man before the world began. 1 Pet.1:20 Rev.13:8b. So God knew that man will fall, infact He allowed the fall and also made a way of escape even before the fall by providing the Redemption Lamb.
May it be noted also that, man is of an inner person and an outer person and that the outer man profiteth nothing (i.e-vanity) but the spirit quickeneth ie.gives life. (Jn.6:63, Gen.2:7, Heb 12:23, 2 Cor 4:16, Eph 6:16, Rom 7:22.)
Conclusively then, the lowering of the spirit man into the dust-man is therefore the fall i.e he was subjected unto vanity- everything of the earthly man (dust) is vanity. So we read “everything God made was CHANGED TO BECOME USELESS, NOT BY ITS OWN WISH, BUT BECAUSE GOD WANTED IT, and because all along there was this hope that everything God made would be set free from the ruin to have the freedom and glory that belongs to God’s children”Rm.8:19-21.NCV.

SO WHEN WAS THE FALL?
It was when everything began to come out of the realm of spirit-Christ, the source, beginning of God’s creation
“….ALL THINGS CAME (OUT) OF FROM HIM” 1 Cor. 8:6 NCV. That is all things left the realm of spirit- Christ existence, into the realm of the physical. In order words, Christ -our real environment, was changed and it began to affect us. This is what is meant by “Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations…thou turnest man to destruction and saith return ye children of men” Ps 90.1:3. So, He God has been our dwelling place according to Verse one.
Man therefore was lowered from pure spirit existence to the natural man (soulish). Hence we see that the man of Gen 1:26-27 created with dominion, who is to subdue the earth is totally different from the soulish man of Gen 2:7 formed of the dust of the ground and through God’s breath, he become a living soul. So the fall of man is in this wise, first he died to the spirit and became soulish, that is, the soul ruling him instead of the spirit and then died to the soul and became completely carnal, that is, he became self conscious. In other words, as soon as he ate the fruit of the tree, he became alive to the outward appearance (SENSES) See Gen 2:9 16-17,3:6-7, Col 1:21-22, Eph 4:18.

This is the real fall. Man was then subjected to the earth realm and the eating of the fruit, so to speak is the fruit or a mere manifestation of the fallen (subjected) nature of man. So the true fall is when God formed man of the dust of the ground, Gen 2:7 God intended that the fallen man should till the ground. “..there was not a man to till the ground”(Gen 2:5) and this became possible only after man had fallen, that God sent him out of the garden to till the ground from whence he was taken.-Gen 3:23. Friends the whole process is that of God.

WHY DID GOD THEN ALLOW THE FALL OF MAN?
The principal thing is in order to learn obedience. According to Heb 5:8, if Jesus Christ who knew no sin has to learn obedience by the things he suffered in order to deliver us, it is clear therefore that man too must learn obedience in the manner of the pattern son (1 Pet 2:21-23) in order to have dominion over all creation. He is the first born son (Rom 8:29, Heb 1:6), our eldest brother ( Col 1:8,Rev 1:5) and has left us an example. If he fulfilled all righteousness we must fulfill same to rule and reign on the earth. Remember, Jesus Christ was in the flesh after the order of the seed of David, and made the Son of God after the Spirit of Holiness. Isa 9:6, Rom 1:4. He was God, mighty counselor etc. He was the word with God, and God that manifested in flesh Jn 1:1, 14. Yet He had to learn obedience in the flesh.
His temptation was a test of obedience just as yours (Adam’s). It is only in
obedience that we (vessels) can work as we see Him (the Spirit, Father) work,
transformed and conform us to His image 2 Cor 3:18.

2. Man was lowered to learn judgment, so that we can establish judgment with justice on the Earth. Math 23:23, Jn.5:30, 19. Isa.9:7. Thes.3:2-3. Comp. 1 Cor.6:2-3 Amp. I Cor.2:15,16. 11:31-33. Amp. Isa.26:9, Heb.12:23. Jn.12:47-48.Jm.5:9, Jn 9:39. It was clear from the above scriptures that God is the Judge of all, 1 Pet.1:17.
The spirit man resides in the earth-man to teach man the wisdom of God. (1 Cor.2:11-15) in order to rule and judge the earth in the knowledge of God. Col.1:9-10. Therefore he sent forth His word in Jesus to teach man righteousness and to live a life of righteousness. Col.4:6. Hence by God’s word (laws) in our heart we demonstrate (live) the life of God (the kingdom life) that humanity may see clearly the difference and flee iniquity.
3. Man was lowered to cause the earth to be transformed and to be conform to the quickening spirit and be made free from decay. 1 Cor.15:45, Col.1:18, Rom.12:2, 2 Cor.3:18.
Man fell so that, he will be able (when raised) to help others in their infirmities as He that helps in our infirmities resides in us because we have become obedient to Him. Heb.2:18, 2 Cor.1:4-7.
It should be understood here that man is to assist to relate to God and to make creation overcome its shortcomings and limitations.
Creation fell because man fell, even so when man is raised, creation will experience life through man.
